Explore an exciting food & drink scene

St. Pete-Clearwater’s food scene is basically a never‑ending tasting menu. Think rooftop brunches, dockside seafood, plant‑powered cafés, street‑food fusions and late‑night spots perfect for post‑beach cravings. 

Flavor checklist:

  • The freshest fish. Grouper and other fresh catches are on virtually every menu in the area. Check out these top spots: Ted Peters, Trophy Fish, Cheeky's, Frenchy's and Mullet's Fish Camp.
  • Stone crab season. Stone crab is a local delicacy sourced from the area and responsibly harvested. Enjoy it with a special remoulade sauce that pairs perfectly with this sweet, flavorful catch.
  • Tampa Bay's Cuban food scene. Many restaurants in the area draw inspiration from flavorful classic dishes such as the Cuban sandwich. Stop in at Bodega in St. Pete, or for a more upscale experience, The Columbia on Sand Key is a win.

How to pack and plan

What to Pack. Stuff some breezy 'fits in the suitcase alongside go-everywhere swimwear, your best sunnies and, at minimum, that one outfit that makes you unreasonably confident for nights out downtown or on the beach. Getting Here. Tampa International Airport and St. Pete-Clearwater Airport offer non-stop flights across the country and the world. Both airports are both less than 20 miles from Clearwater Beach and downtown St. Pete. 

Tips and Tricks to get around:

  • The Grouper Airport Express from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport to Clearwater Beach hotels can accommodate up to nine people.
  • Free rides on Clearwater Beach are available via Florida Free Rides and the Suncoast Beach Trolly is another way to explore the beaches.
  • The Clearwater Ferry is just $4!
  • The SunRunner is a rapid transit running from downtown St. Pete to St. Pete Beach, so you can enjoy the city and the beach all in one getaway.
