Pristine Pass-A-Grille Beach is where blissful beach days melt into brilliant sunsets.

If you're lucky enough to find yourself in Pass-a-Grille Beach – the kind of place where shoes feel optional and time seems to slow down –  get ready for a day that hits all the right notes. From sunrise strolls to rooftop sunsets, this sliver of paradise has everything you need for one perfect day.

Early Morning Shell-Seeking

Shell hunting is a perfect morning activity in St. Pete-Clearwater.

Start your day with barefoot bliss. Head to the very south end of Pass-a-Grille Beach, near the rock jetty, where early risers and sandpipers have the place (almost) to themselves. This stretch is famous among shell hunters – and for good reason. The tides wash up treasures each morning, especially near the rocks. Look for scallops, coquinas, tulips and more.

Breakfast With Your Feet in the Sand

Once you've filled your pockets with seashells, it's time to fill your belly, and there’s no better spot than Paradise Grille in Pass-a-Grille. Grab a coffee and order up some pancakes and eggs or even a blackened shrimp omelet. The view is 180 degrees of saltwater serenity.

Mid-Morning Boat Trip or Pool Time

Part seabird sanctuary, part pristine playground, Shell Key Preserve is only accessible by boat. It's an amazing spot for beach camping.

If you're up for an island-style adventure, consider taking the Shell Key Shuttle to the pristine shores of Shell Key Preserve for a day of swimming, shelling and bird-watching (you might see dolphins, too). Be sure to bring snacks and drinks (plus sunscreen and insect repellent), as there are no amenities at the preserve.

Or simply relax by the pool with a good book. The fresh air and sunshine can't be beat.

Lunch With a View

If you opted to spend a few hours at Shell Key, you've brought your own food for a beach picnic.

If pool time was your top choice, it's time to head over to Red, White & Booze, where you’ll find casual fare and outdoor seating overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. Order up some grouper or shrimp (and don't miss the hush puppies).
