
Sunday at the XInsurance Clearwater Offshore Nationals is all about the races, with back-to-back competitions followed by an awards ceremony and party. The racers are competing for national championships and to be eligible to race in the World Championships in Key West in November. For racing fans and curious spectators, it's a day spent on America's Best Beaches, with the sights and sounds of world-class powerboat racing off Clearwater Beach.
Schedule for Day 3: Sunday, September 29, 2024
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: See the boats in the Dry Pits at Sand Key Park, Sand Key, 1060 Gulf Blvd. Entrance to the park is free but parking is $5 per day.
11 to 11:45 a.m.: Race 1, Brackets 5, 6, and 7
12:15 to 1:15 p.m.: Race 2, Start 1, Brackets 2, 3, and 4; Race 2, Start 2, Super Vee
1:15 to 2 p.m.: Race 3, Stock 450 class
2:30 to 3:30 p.m.: Race 4, Super Cat class
3:30 to 4:30 p.m.: Race 5, Class 1 USA
6 to 7:30 p.m.: Awards Ceremony and After Party at Marina Cantina, 25 Causeway Blvd., Clearwater Beach
8 p.m. to midnight: The party continues with dancing at Shephard's Beach Resort
Transportation Options
For those who want to avoid driving to Clearwater Beach, several public transportation options are available. The Jolley Trolley will take you from Pier 60 to the entrance to Sand Key Park, where the race boats are based. The one-way fare is $2.25. The trolley accepts tap-to-pay, or payment through the Flamingo Fares app, or exact change in cash (no pennies).
