Exciting offshore powerboat racing comes to Clearwater Beach as the first day of the XInsurance Clearwater Offshore Nationals begins on Friday, September 27, 2024!
The first day of the XInsurance Clearwater Offshore Nationals is devoted to preparations and parties. The boats will arrive at their base for the event in Sand Key Park, just across the bridge from the south end of Clearwater Beach. On Friday, and throughout the weekend, the public is invited to the park to watch the crews work and to see the amazing race boats up close. That’s during the day. Evening will be time to party with other fans and race teams.
Here's the schedule for Day 1: Friday, September 27, 2024
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: The Dry Pits in Sand Key Park, 1060 Gulf Blvd. on Sand Key. Entrance to the park is free but parking is $5 per day. All of the race boats can be seen up close as they are prepared. The Dry Pits are open to the public free of charge .
5:30 to 9 p.m.: Race World Offshore Bar Tiki Racers’ Party at Bar Tiki, 25 Causeway Blvd., Clearwater Beach. This party (and all other official parties for the event) are open to the public without admission charge. There will be a cash bar and music on the rooftop overlooking Clearwater Marina.
8 p.m. to 2 a.m.: The party continues at Shephard's Beach Resort, 619 S Gulfview Blvd., Clearwater Beach.
Transportation Options
For those who want to avoid driving to Clearwater Beach, several public transportation options are available. The Jolley Trolley will take you from Pier 60 to the entrance to Sand Key Park, where the race boats are based. The one-way fare is $2.25. The trolley accepts tap-to-pay, or payment through the Flamingo Fares app, or exact change in cash (no pennies).
