Pier 60 Shines Bright After Recent Storms

Lisa and Steve Chandler have been pillars of the Clearwater Beach business community for over 30 years, owning and operating Pier 60 Concessions, the Barefoot Beach House, and overseeing the iconic Sunsets at Pier 60 Festival. However, Hurricane Helene brought an unprecedented challenge to their beloved beach community.

“The 9-foot storm surge and extensive damage to Pier 60 Fishing Pier were unlike anything we’d ever seen,” Lisa shared. The storm left the entire area blanketed in sand, creating immense challenges for local businesses and attractions.

Despite the devastation, Clearwater Beach’s resilience has been nothing short of extraordinary. The Chandlers, along with the city of Clearwater, local businesses, and the hospitality and tourism community, came together in a remarkable effort to rebuild and rebound. Within just six weeks, the area reopened to visitors, demonstrating the strength and unity of the community.

Today, the nightly Sunset at Pier 60 Festival is once again lighting up Pier 60 Park. This cherished celebration features talented artisans and street performers, welcoming visitors from two hours before until two hours after sunset, weather permitting.

“The rebuild and rebound have been nothing short of a miracle,” Lisa said. “Clearwater Beach is still shining—just a little bit brighter.”

As the community continues to recover, Clearwater Beach remains a symbol of resilience and hope, inviting guests from around the world to experience its beauty, spirit, and unforgettable sunsets.

Come out, show your support, and see how Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach is Still Shining brighter than ever!
