Grove Surf + Coffee’s Road to Recovery
Due to hurricane impacts, Grove Surf + Coffee faced damage but quickly began rebuilding with the help of friends, family, and loyal customers.
Grove Surf + Coffee encountered challenges after Hurricane Helene struck the area. Despite preparations that included sandbagging and elevating inventory, the St. Pete Beach location sustained unexpected flood damage, with storm surge levels reaching nearly four feet. Upon returning, the team was met with surfboards and merchandise scattered throughout the coffee shop and the team knew they needed to act fast.
The cleanup and recovery process quickly began, driven by the outpouring of support from friends, family, and the community. Volunteers arrived immediately to help remove damaged items in the coffee shop. This community support left a lasting impact on the Grove Surf team, reaffirming their commitment to reestablishing their St. Pete Beach location.
Their new location as of this past spring, Grove Surf Café, is Still Shining! With their doors open in Indian Rocks Beach, they’re grateful for a touch of normalcy and look forward to welcoming customers back to a revived Grove Surf + Coffee on St. Pete Beach.
