
Explore St. Pete’s vibrant museums for free on Saturday, September 20, 2025!
For one day only, many of the city’s top museums and cultural institutions will open their doors with free admission. From contemporary art and local history to stunning glass, local marine ecology, and more, Free Museum Day is your chance to experience the creativity that makes the city of St. Pete shine.
Free Admission for All:
- The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art: View the extensive collection of Western-themed paintings, jewelry and sculptures from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Reservations required.
- The Florida Holocaust Museum: This recently renovated museum offers poignant exhibits about the Holocaust as well as a Danish rescue boat, Thor, used to transport Jews to safety in WWII.
- St. Petersburg Museum of History: Get a glimpse at the fascinating history of St. Pete, the Sunshine City, and see a huge collection of signed baseballs in "Little Cooperstown."
- Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center: Learn about local marine ecology and animals at this family-friendly attraction at the St. Pete Pier.
- The Woodson African American Museum of Florida: See current exhibits, including a stunning sculpture of Harriet Tubman in the Legacy Garden, and enjoy face painting, live music, storytelling and drum circles.
- Imagine Museum: See beautiful contemporary art glass as well as special exhibits. Free on both Sept. 20 & 21.
- Museum of Motherhood: A quirky, tiny museum located inside The Factory in St. Pete. Open noon to 6 p.m. on Sept. 20 with no ticket or reservation required.
Free Admission for Pinellas County Residents With Valid ID:
- The Dalí Museum: St. Pete-Clearwater's best-known museum brings the surreal to life. Advance reservations are required. (Note that gallery admission is free, but tickets to Dalí Alive 360 can be purchased for $15).
- Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg: See the museum's impressive art collection for free. Advance registration is required. Be sure to stop in for coffee and a treat at Cafe Clementine, and browse the museum's gift shop.

- Parking is available in downtown garages. For convenience, consider riding the SunRunner, St. Petersburg Trolley Downtown Looper, or Central Avenue Trolley.
