Famous for its treasured history, signature pink façade and prime waterfront location on sparkling Tampa Bay in downtown St. Pete, The Vinoy Resort and Golf Club has a refreshed look and new amenities worthy of a luxe vacation or fabulous staycation.

Now part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection Hotels, and the only Autograph property in St. Petersburg, the 354-room resort gleams as a result of its renovation, which sought to restore it to its original grandeur and preserve its Mediterranean Revival style, reflecting its glamorous history dating back 100 years.

Renovating a Downtown Icon

The Vinoy’s renovations include new touches to its legendary Veranda; a reimagined arrival court and grand lobby; refurbished guest rooms, ballrooms and meeting spaces; new dining experiences; and a new spa and wellness area.

The Vinoy’s Rich History

To appreciate the new enhancements, guests will want to learn about the storied past of this iconic hotel, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and is a member of Historic Hotels of America. The Vinoy opened to great fanfare on New Year’s Eve 1925. In its 100-plus years, the hotel has hosted a wide range of notable guests, from presidents to A-list celebrities and athletes.

Welcoming New Beginnings

Step inside the grand lobby, where elements of the past and present mingle at every turn. Admire the hotel’s original cypress wood-beam ceilings and ceramic tiles, which have been refurbished, while the space also sparkles with new chandeliers and other contemporary design elements. It’s worth taking a peek inside the newly refined Grand Ballroom to see a shimmering blown-glass chandelier crafted by glass master Dale Chihuly – it has been restored to its former glory. 

Embracing the Past

The introduction to the hotel’s past begins at check-in. Guests are presented with postcards that showcase hotel scenes throughout the years, and team members share their favorite memories of the hotel. Guests can take a tour of the resort with a docent and stop by the newly revamped history gallery on the mezzanine level. It’s filled with old photos and artifacts from the hotel’s past.

Escape to reinvigorated guest rooms and suites, where walls are now dotted with custom paintings and coastal-inspired carpets recall the sand meeting the sea. Most bathrooms feature marble walk-in showers. Other amenities include a coffee station and an elegant dressing area.

The hotel’s picturesque front porch is a favorite gathering spot, scattered with custom-designed rocking chairs and a new bar. Spend the day sunning on the serene pool deck, fitted with lush plantings and private cabanas; peruse The Vinoy Shoppe; retreat to the soothing full-service Vinoy Spa, a relaxing oasis featuring holistic treatments inspired by the ocean’s therapeutic qualities. If you want to get moving, maintain your workout routine at the fitness center, which sports Peloton bikes, take a daily group fitness class, hit the tennis courts or play a round on the 18-hole championship golf course.

Diverse Dining Experiences

Start your day with coffee and house-made pastries at Lottie, the lobby’s classic French patisserie, or stop back later in the day for macarons and gelato. The rejuvenated Veranda is the perfect spot for sipping a craft cocktail and savoring Mediterranean-inspired fare while overlooking the bay. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, complete with a full bar, Paul’s Landing blends local seafood with international flavors where you can take in marina views from the inviting outdoor lounge. Parasol, a poolside restaurant, serves flavorful Latin American-inspired cuisine paired with specialty cocktails and panoramic views of the waterfront. Meanwhile, the Vinoy Club Grill is the perfect place to grab a bite after a round of golf. It serves American clubhouse favorites and regional specialties amid a picturesque golf course setting. The Vinoy's newest dining concept opened in 2025, the MICHELIN-recommended Elliott Aster, a sophisticated steak and seafood restaurant by Chef Lee Wolen. The restaurant offers dinner Tuesday through Sunday in an elegant dining room that’s centered around a freshly prepared antipasti bar. Sunday Brunch is a can't-miss experience at Elliott Aster. The restaurant also offers a lounge menu. Aperitivos and cocktails are available on the waterfront patio. If you’d rather relax in your room, an extensive in-room dining menu of elevated fare is available for breakfast and dinner.
