The Deep End

Had an amazing experience at the rooftop restaurant and bar on the 11th floor of the JW Marriott Clearwater. The views alone make this place worth visiting — absolutely breathtaking. Watching the water and skyline from that height creates an upscale, relaxing atmosphere that really captures the luxury feel of Clearwater Beach. The ambience is elegant yet comfortable, making it perfect for a date night, celebration, or even just drinks while enjoying the sunset. Between the rooftop setting, the lighting, and the panoramic scenery, it easily feels like one of the must-see locations in Clearwater. If you’re visiting the area or looking for a spot with incredible views and a memorable atmosphere, this rooftop is definitely worth experiencing.

Mixed feelings. The views were absolutely stunning and the cocktails were expertly crafted, but unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the venue. We ordered two dishes and both were incredibly basic and lacked any real culinary effort. To be honest, the flavors were comparable to what you’d find at a standard fast-food chain. Great for a drink, but I’d skip the dinner.

This was our first visit to The Deep End but certainly won’t be our last! Located on the 11th floor of the JW Marriott in Clearwater, this restaurant offers expansive views of the ocean and the beautiful beaches and myriad sea craft traversing the waters! Would definitely recommend getting a reservation so that you can secure an Oceanside table. The menu is simple but offered several options for vegetarians! The teriyaki bowl was a visual delight with fresh vegetables cucumber avocado a seaweed salad and a scrumptious teriyaki sauce! Our party tried the salmon chicken and the tofu options and all were delectable! The dessert was the piece de residence - we ordered the blueberry and the Peruvian custard in saki cream and both were unique flavor profiles although I’m partial to purple! It was an elevated beach vibe in a beautiful resort with easy valet parking which is validated if one spends a certain amount!

My wife and I returned this year after having such a great experience celebrating our birthdays last April—we celebrate together—so we were really looking forward to it. We visited on Easter Sunday and were fortunate to get gulf-front bar seating for two. The view was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping for. We started with drinks, and while the margarita didn’t quite justify the $21 price point in my opinion, I switched to beer and was happy. My wife really enjoyed her espresso martini, as well as the strawberry basil cocktail. For food, we shared the tuna nachos and the tuna poke bowl—both were excellent. The tuna was fresh, generous in portion, and well-prepared. The only downside was the service. Our server seemed more focused on turning the table than creating a great experience. Our appetizer came out with our entrées, and while she mentioned the kitchen was taking about 30 minutes, it felt more like a rehearsed response than genuine communication. A couple of follow-ups also felt rushed and less attentive than expected. That said, the pool area was busy, and overall the rest of the staff seemed to be doing a great job, so I wouldn’t hold this entirely against the restaurant. I did notice there wasn’t a manager visibly checking in on tables or supporting the team, which may have contributed to the inconsistency. Overall, the ambiance was spot on, the food was excellent, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. While the service didn’t match our previous visit, we’d still consider coming back and hope for a more polished experience next time.

Fantastic. Venue, appetizer, entree, and dessert. The Deep End is on the 11th floor of the Marriott Hotel at the south end of Clearwater. Our table overlooked the gulf. The Tuna Nachos appetizer had crunch, spice, and a great amount of fresh tuna. The sweet, earthy plantain chips in the Lima Tuna Ceviche perfectly contrasted the light, acidic tuna and tamarind ceviche. They also made for perfect scooping chips. The Salmon Tartare Sushi Tacos were creatively wrapped with seaweed tempura and filled with salmon. For dessert, the Blueberry Sake Something (can’t remember the name) was the right amount of sweetness, crunch, and softness. The lightness left you satisfied after a delicious meal but delighted you enough to want to come back for more very soon. P.S. Great atmosphere, really cool location, and quick, friendly service.
