The Ale and the Witch is hands down one of my favorite spots in downtown St. Pete! The vibe is absolutely amazing — relaxed, welcoming, and always full of great energy. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual drink, enjoying live music under the lights, or hanging out with friends, it always feels like the perfect Florida night. The beer selection is excellent, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the outdoor courtyard creates such a unique atmosphere you really can’t find anywhere else. It’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back again and again. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the Tampa Bay area!
That such a wonderful, welcoming place could be dreamt up and succeed in this unassuming courtyard is a testament to the attention to detail of ownership. You want great music, generally for free. Check You want great beers and wine at a reasonable price served through regularly cleaned keg lines. Check You want access to a community of people that frequent and love the place. Check. I could go on, but what I can tell you is that if you want a great place to hang, and have a great time/ then you have found it.
The Ale and the Witch is a craft beer bar, offering a wide selection of local and nation craft beer, ciders and meed options. Located on an open air courtyard, live local music artists can be heard often. We saw "The St Pete Collective", who performed the music of James Taylor. Food is also offered by neighboring bistros and restaurants. A terrific evening was had by all. Highly recommend The Ale and the Witch if your looking to enjoy a craft beer, have a delicious meal, and listen to St Pete's wide variety of local talent.
This is a very welcoming beer lover's heaven. They always have 30 or so widely varied and quality beers on tap and bartenders are on top of everything with speed. They very frequently have music in the vestibule in front of the bar too with much outdoor seating and tables for relaxing enjoyment. They now have many wines and sangria as well. Before 6pm on weekdays all taps and wine is $5! Water bottles here are only $1. They also have many board game options and Trivia on Thursdays
Our 1st visit here while walking around. Just wanted a cocktail as we had just eaten elsewhere. Active & plleasant sidewalk vibe. Had delicious espresso Martinis 😋 Will look forward to coming back to try some unique menu offerings 👍
