Rush Hour Chicken & Waffles

I randomly noticed this place about a month ago and finally stopped in now. I am so glad I stopped. I had to quick take a pic of the food before I tore into it, it was so good. Real southern style fried chicken came out piping hot and with a fresh waffle. This is definitely the best chicken and waffles plate I’ve ever had. Very nice staff working here. I will be going back there just for the chicken and waffles again for sure!

Boyfriend and I were in town for a holiday event and looking for dinner. Stumbled upon this restaurant and lounge on a whim. FANTASTIC FOOD. FANTASTIC SERVICE. FANTASTIC MUSIC. We greatly enjoyed the vibes here. Good drinks too.

Very slow service on a non-busy night (10 minutes to get a menu and 30 or so minutes to get food), and an unbelievably small portion of slightly warm and overcooked shrimps on the so called shrimp and grits. The toast was suppose to come with butter and honey. It came with neither. My server never checked on me or asked him my meal was. I was so disappointed because I thought I would really like this place. Never again! I left hungry, and that never happens when I order shrimp and grits.

I spotted this place one night, told my fiancé that we would have to try it. Was on that side of town and decided tonight was that night. Really glad we did! We both ordered the Chicken & Waffles. Hands down, THE best chicken I have had from a restaurant in a long time, and the waffles were delicious! You get your choice of sauces to go with the chicken wings, but they were so full of flavor I didn't use my sauce! Really loved having the Chef come out to check in on us. His story is a blessed one and we will definitely be back again. Can't wait to try the oxtails!

Chicken & waffles are amazing, but my favorite is the fish basket. Don't forget to try the dipping sauce. They should bottle & sell it. Friday nights are fun with He Said She Said. Get there early to secure your order. The servers a wonderful, but can get swamped once it gets busy. Enjoy this Black-owned business and how it supports a lot of good community services.
