We had an absolutely wonderful stay from beginning to end. The hotel is beautifully maintained, and our suite was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The area is incredibly cozy, and the overall atmosphere felt modern, relaxing, and welcoming. Every team member we encountered was friendly and professional, making the experience even more enjoyable. The property is clean, well cared for, and truly feels like a place where guests are valued. A special thank you to John G. in valet, as he went above and beyond with his kindness and professionalism. He made every arrival and departure smooth and stress-free, and his warm attitude really stood out. We’re already looking forward to our next stay!

Stayed at this location several times and this week was beyond great. They gave us the 1 special suite with the party patio, loved it. Isabel at the front desk was amazing, I would come back just on her personality and positive attitude! Thx Residence team for a great stay.

The front desk staff were always helpful. The location was perfect, valet, pool and breakfast was always good. We only ever saw one cart for luggage our whole stay. With valet we could go back and forth to our car and had a lot of luggage and groceries that were carried by hand the whole time. Laundry was $5 a load even though they are labeled $3.50, only one washer worked. Bookers beware the bar plays music until 2am. Any room with an odd number will face the bar. We talked to other guests in the hall that shared their lack of sleep as well. The hotel smelled like weed significantly throughout our whole stay. Especially the hall to our first and second room. We started off in a suite which was perfect for our family of 5. There was no sleeping our first night due to the music from the bar. Thankfully we were moved to a one bedroom across the hall the next day. When I brought up the concern for having 5 people and a room that only sleeps 4 I was told… well you asked for this. There was no suggested remediation for where the 5th person was going to sleep. I requested a roll away, the one bedroom was tight for 5 people but not being next to the music was the main concern. My kids are 8, 12, and 14. The 8 year old had to sleep with us in the king bed, the couch bed would not fit two kids easily. After moving earlier in the day we went to go to bed to find beetles in our bed, NOT bed bugs. We were moved once again. There was no concern from the front desk for finding bugs in the bed at 9:30 at night, or the inconvenience of packing up kids and moving them once again, yes I was thankful for an open room but it just seemed like they brushed it off. We were thankful that the one bedroom had a balcony to give some separation for the kids when they needed space in the small room. We saw a manatee from our balcony too. We truly loved the location but would not stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn in Clearwater. The location was fabulous with the bay on the back side of the property and the beach just a short walk across the street either through the surf shop or just past the Hyatt hotel. Pier 60 is within 10 minutes easy walking distance. We stayed in the one bedroom suite with two queen beds. It was comfortable and spacious. Lots of storage space. The full size fridge was great as we stored bottled drinks and snacks in there and used the icemaker. The valet service was very convenient and prompt. There are two negative issues. The first is the loud music playing at Coco’s bar next to the hotel at night. The music is good but you just have to be prepared to hear it all night. We actually had a nice sit down lunch at Coco’s Bar. Service was good there. We called and ordered pizza and wings from King’s Pizza that we took to the beach. The other negative is their way of overbooking the hotel. My brother had a reservation for Saturday check in. He booked directly through Marriott. On Friday afternoon he got an email from “lodging dynamics” stating that there is some issue with his credit card and to contact them before 7 pm to discuss or else they will cancel the booking. First of all, they gave him less than three hours notice to reply to this message. Secondly, my brother was at a theme park in Orlando at the time so isn’t going to read this email in time. Thirdly, he wouldn’t be inclined to read an email from Lodging dynamics because it sounds like pfishing or a scam (since it was not from a Mariott official email account). When we finally talking to the front desk later on Friday night about the reservation for Saturday, then said HIS RESERVATION WAS CANCELED AND THEY CANT HELP HIM. They purposely found a way to cancel his reservation because they were overbooked. They had no rooms of any type available for him. Calling the front desk or Mariott’s corporate didn’t help. The next morning I went to the front desk and was told by the manager that they were overbooked by nine rooms. THAT ISNT OUT FAULT. WE BOOKED IN ADVANCE AND RHE METHOD OF PAYMENT IS GOOD. I didn’t accept NO for an answer and just stood there and waited. Finally the manager agreed to reactivate my brother’s reservation and he was able to check in that day as planned. He didn’t complain that they put him in a room with one King bed even though he booked a room with two queen beds for his family of four. He was just happy to get a room. I think Marriott needs to do better and not allow the overbooking to happen. Lastly, I like that they let you check out as many pool towels as needed. I think they should have a shelf near the front desk where you can grab it. Else sometimes you have to stand in line waiting for a front desk employee to be free to go grab a towel from the back. This happens during peak check in hours. Overall, I like the convenient location of the hotel, the spacious rooms, the prompt valet, and fast elevators. Main dislike is the loud noise from the bar and the issue with the canceled reservation.
