Red Roof Inn - Tampa Bay - St. Petersburg

I had a wonderful stay at this little hotel. It’s charming, clean, and has a very welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. A special thank you to Rico, who went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. He was incredibly kind, helpful, and always greeted me with a smile. His hospitality truly made a difference and added a personal touch to the experience. If you’re looking for a cozy place with great service and genuinely caring people, I highly recommend staying here. Thank you again, Rico, for your kindness and for making my visit so pleasant!

Decent place to stay. Good for the price. Location wise, its close enough to the beautiful beach and farmers markets to make it worth your while without breaking the bank. The beds were made, the room mostly clean. I did see a tiny roach in the tub. Got the non-smoking room, but someone definitely smoked in there. The staff was kind and used a spray to remove/reduce the smell. A/C worked well in this 90 degree weather. TV was functional with a good selection of cable TV. Ice maker is near the center court worked for our cooler. People staying here varied. Some family friendly others not so family friendly. But overall felt safe. Not a place of luxury, but a decent place to stay during your vacation for a reasonable price.

Would not recommend staying here unless you're desperate. We booked a room for one night because we needed and overlap since our airbnb wasn't ready. We were aware of mixed reviews but willing to give it a chance but I'm here to say don't waste your time unless you really need to. It was very dirty, parts of the walls were falling apart, and smelled like a mix of cigarettes and mold even though we were in a non smoking room. It also looked like there were BOOGERS all over the bathroom wall (video attached). We checked for bugs and thankfully didn't find any but it's definitely sketch and if you do stay check your room throughly. Staff was rude and when we went to check in they originally said we couldn't stay and they don't know how we booked a room because they were sold out. There was another couple trying to cancel and so they were trying to offer us there room and the lady at the desk wouldn't let us switch because "it's against policy" so she called some higher up who "miraculously" opened a room for us. Not sure if the other couple ever got their room cancelled or not but felt bad for them because they had two kids and didn't feel comfortable staying there with them once they saw the room. Overall, pretty terrible. Courtyard was pretty though. Also sketchy area. Don't stay unless you have to.

Bathrooms have been redone since our last stay. They also have new AC units. Emily (Red Hair) with the front desk is really good at resolving any issue you may have in a few timely manner. She's very good at checking people in and out. She used to walk the premises but they added new vending and coolers in the office which keeps her at the front desk but her customer service skills are top notch. Thank you for making our stay such a pleasure Emily.

Shout out to Emelly for going above and beyond to help us weary travelling gals, and with an attitude of kindness! 5 stars for this motel as a bargain room. You get what you pay for which means scuffed walls and worn sheets. If that bothers you, look at a higher price point. The room is spacious and spotless, maybe a couple stains on the sheets, no problem for us. We booked a smoking room by mistake and it was.... Really bad, to be honest. Unfortunately they were fully booked so we just had to deal, but it was my mistake so it is what it is. Courtyard INCREDIBLE and a huge beautiful pool. At least 3 drink vending machines and a mile walk to gas station and fast food, or Denny's next door. Oh and we clogged the toilet and maintenance showed up quick. Nothing but positives.
