We absolutely loved our first visit here at Po Folks! We so wanted that southern comfort food and they did not disappoint. The fried chicken is absolutely amazing! The vegetables so delicious, but I will tell you the mashed potatoes are instant. I was so disappointed by this. I really expected them to be homemade mashed potatoes.

My husband and I stopped here after a weekend in St. Pete, before we headed back to Central Florida because he had one been wanting to try it. We ordered quite a few things to go and they were hit or miss. Fried pickles and fried green tomatoes are very good. I like the fact that they're not full of grease even though they're fried if you know what I'm saying.. he also really enjoyed the fried full catfish the one with the bones and the fried chicken was okay. I got the Callaway shrimp or castaway shrimp which were like popcorn shrimp. They were not good. Some of them still had raw dough on the inside of them and we're mushy. I threw most of them away. The sides I got was macaroni and cabbage. The macaroni and cheese was okay and very creamy but It doesn't have a lot of flavor. I did enjoy the cabbage with the bacon in it. My husband also liked the red beans and rice but the coleslaw. I don't know what is going on with that coleslaw.. it is the most disgusting coleslaw I've ever had. It tasted sour so I don't know if it's normally supposed to taste like that or we just had old spoiled coleslaw. Overall we wouldn't be back after spending over $70 today on the 3 meals and 2 appetizers.

I had to go! I live is SC, this is where they stated. As a kid this was an amazing place, we still talk about it once a year. And it was probably last in Greer SC 1986. The bone in-catfish was excellent, sides very small. Okra was great, but only a hand full. Red beans and rice, not so great, no twing and no love. I am glad I ran across PoFolks on a floor and decor run.

First time trying Po folks. Southern fare at its best!!! Side items are fantastic and authentic. Fried chicken better than most fried chicken places. Pricing is very reasonable for what you get. Highly recommend!!
