Opal Sands Resort

First time staying at an Opal, very chill vibe that my family enjoyed. You don’t quite get the Marriott touch but sometimes that’s ok as Marriott’s can have too many rules. Valet and bell hops were very nice, front desk was lacking professionalism and rooms were a bit dirty for $600 per night. We got the superior view one bedroom with kitchenette. The views were incredible and the guest pantry was a great touch. Next time I would get the spacious 1 bedroom since that has a tub and shower and a full sized refrigerator and bigger balcony vs we had a small balcony, no tub, and a small drawer fridge/freezer. Pool was very nice and pool staff (towel team and wait staff were top notch). Food was actually decent for a resort! Location is amazing of course close to everything under the Clearwater Sun. We saw dolphins and manatees every day from the balcony and beach. I will say every time we called asking questions we got different answers like getting a crib for the room and other amenities. I would recommend putting some good music at the pool, thankfully while we were there, another guest was playing his own music from a loud speaker which actually made everything more fun! I would stay here again, but not for what I paid this go-round as I think the areas mentioned above didn’t quite match the price tag.

Our stay at Opal Sands Resort & Spa was outstanding from start to finish. The rooms were beautiful, spotless, and offered incredible views, making it easy to relax the moment we arrived. The staff was consistently friendly, professional, and eager to help with anything we needed. The location couldn't be better, with easy access to the beach and nearby restaurants and attractions. Every part of our experience exceeded expectations, and we left already looking forward to our next visit. I would highly recommend Opal Sands to anyone looking for a first-class vacation on Clearwater Beach.

Wonderful location. Wonderful staff. Really nice property with many options. We pretty much spent the week on the property as there was plenty of variety there to not go else where. We did venture out twice to go else where, but there was no need to. The bars, restaurants, and service at everything was top notch. Not really promoted, but each floor has an area with free water, ice, and plenty of rotating snacks, which free bottled water is a big plus, though that is part of the resort fee, still very nice. I have seen complaints about the in-room fridge drawer. Some saying it is not big enough for a few bottles of water. I put over 15 pints of beer in there with room for water and the mountains turned blue, so it is getting things below 40 degrees. That is plenty big and cold. If we came back to Clearwater beach we would for sure stay here without question. There are a few nice hotels north of the pier, but at this price point, this place is perfect.

The Opal Sands and it's sister property the Sol across the street are both excellent. We visited for the 4th of July weekend and had a great time. The property is beautiful and right on the beach. What we enjoyed were the large modern rooms, attentive staff and on-site restaurants. I would highly recommend for a family or couples getaway.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights and wished we booked longer! What a beautiful hotel, perfect location and the staff were fantastic! The staff was so friendly and personable, especially everyone around the pool/bar area. They made it such a great trip. We can not wait to come back!
