Museum of American Arts & Crafts Movement

Beautiful museum space and collection. The pottery, tile, furniture, and metal smithing pieces were amazing. I had hoped for more architectural drawings and appreciated the craftsman dollhouse. Highly recommend if you’re in St Petersburg.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this museum! It very much reminded us of the quality you expect from something like the National museums in DC. The exhibits were presented with excellent position, lighting, and signage. And the building itself also was something to behold! It is not cheap, but in our opinion, this is one case where “You get what you pay for...” really does ring true. With four full floors of exhibits, be prepared for some walking. Highly recommend!

We went on a weekday and the museum was virtually empty. Parking is super easy and convenient. This Museum is incredible with excellent displays. An interesting collection! The building itself is an architectural marvel. This is definitely a must visit when in the area!

Truly a hidden gem that you MUST see! I am a big fan of the Decorative arts, but I never heard of this Museum. Located in downtown Saint Petersburg Florida, the building itself is quite spacious with a large atrium. Everything imaginable relating to the Arts and Crafts movement and the underlying architecture and artistry is here. All sorts of furnishings are exhibited including light fixtures, furniture, artwork, and more. All of this was part of a private collection that is now available for all to see. The best way to view this is by taking the elevator to the fifth floor and working your way downward. There is also a great museum shop and cafe. If you are into the Decorative Arts, then this IS THE PLACE. I really think that they must improve their advertising... This is a really spectacular place with an awesome collection.

The Craftsman movement is thoroughly depicted in the world's largest collection. Five floors of furniture, art, metalwork, stained glass, lamps, and illustrations used in magazines. Excellent female representation of the work.
