Morean Arts Center for Clay

One of my favorite art places. Nice big spec with monthly exhibitions. They have 40-50 artists work out of this place and they also have an artist in residence program. Clay art might not be on top of many people but I bet you a crisp $2 bill you will like what they have. Very diverse works - by individual artists, group shows, curated monthly themed shows. Even if you don’t like art that much- you can score amazing tableware items! And during second Saturday artwork, they even serve drinks and snacks as you stroll through the center. And as an added bonus, the building also host the wonderfully cozy and very tasty Spanish themed restaurant Lolita.

This is a great place to take classes and be around artistic people who are laid back, welcoming and accepting. The equipment is in good order, you get access to glazes, and group firing as part of class. There are a variety of kilns outside, which is a site to see. In this vintage converted train station, there also is a great showroom of artist's work for sale. An overall inspiring place for a maker.

This is a beautiful venue. I am a part of the After Hours band and we performed at their recent fundraiser event.

This working clay studio offers finished pieces interspersed between friendly potters at work. ALEX gave me info on the many events and activities offered here, including a one-time class for my 3 years old grandkids. The clay center is housed in an old rail station. I explored some of the massive kilns outdoors, adding to the artistic ambiance. Free entry and worth a visit, esp to an artist opening.

Watched a very interesting and educational free glass blowing demonstration at Morean. if you've never visited and seen their demonstrations and galleries I highly recommend it! They also have classes in glass and a variety of other mediums.
