Mar Bay Motel & Suites

A big thank you to Swati, you made our stay special! We love the Mar Bay Inn & Suites in Safety Harbor — it truly feels like a hidden gem. Nestled in beautiful nature with a peaceful, almost Caribbean vibe, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind, while still being just minutes away from the charming downtown area. Safety Harbor itself is such a special little town — artistic, unique, welcoming, and full of character. Staying at Mar Bay gives you the best of both worlds: quiet surroundings away from the busy tourist crowds, but still close to everything. The rooms are very spacious, clean, and thoughtfully equipped. There’s a cute little sitting area, a huge refrigerator, microwave, kitchenette, coffee maker (capsule or filter coffee available upon request), and even laundry facilities, which makes longer stays especially comfortable. Yes, the property is a little out of date in some areas, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. You can tell that the people running it genuinely care about their guests, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We really hope this place will be preserved and perhaps lovingly remodeled one day, because it deserves to shine even more. One small suggestion: it would be wonderful to see Mar Bay listed more prominently by the local tourism office and chamber listings, since currently mostly the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa and the Safety Harbor Motel appear there — and Mar Bay absolutely deserves recognition too. This was our third stay here, and we would come back again anytime. A true little pearl in Florida.

I spent one night at this property. The room I was in had a few windows which I liked. The room was clean but the bedding did not smell fresh. The refrigerator did not work at all. Water pooled in the tiny shower and the flimsy shower curtain kept getting staticky and stuck to my body as I showered. It was annoying and hilarious at the same time. I appreciated the kitchenette although they could replace the coffee-stained mugs. Staff was responsive and accommodating. They discounted my stay and let me use the fridge in another room which was nice. I didn’t stay for a second night.

Perfect little motel at an affordable price. Rooms are small but clean and adequate for 2 people. Each has a stocked kitchenette with a full size refrigerator. The easy chair was one of the most comfy I've had in a motel or hotel. There's an onsite laundry. The owner and staff is helpful. Easy access to everything, quiet, plenty of parking. If you only need a room to sleep and clean up before venturing out to explore Florida, this is the perfect place.

Had a great stay here! The room was clean and comfortable nice kitchenette with sll the amenities, and the manager was very welcoming and helpful. You can tell they really care about their guests. Would definitely stay again

I had to go to Clearwater on unexpected and difficult family circumstances during the dreaded spring break. Finding a suite at MarBay for the ten days I needed a place felt no less than a divine miracle. It was a bit off the beaten path, so much quieter and safer than many motels. The rooms were clean, well kept and cheerful, and each had a kitchen area where I prepared meals for myself. An on-site laundry room afforded me the luxury of not having to go out to do my wash. There's a very nice, large backyard where I relaxed in the evenings -and a scenic, waterfront park just down the road. The hostess was delightful, very accommodating and always available. I thought the price was very fair, and I was pleased to support a small, family business instead of a large corporate entity. If I have to return to the area, I will definitely book another stay at MarBay Suites. I highly recommend it as your home away from home.
