Jannus Live
An open-air, courtyard concert venue in downtown St. Petersburg with a capacity of 2,000 hosts an eclectic array of touring talent as well as DJs, local acts and other events. Once a run-down (but beloved) courtyard venue in downtown St. Pete, it has been thoroughly overhauled and packed with amenities, without sacrificing its rustic charm. It is a perfect place to enjoy ive acts from all over the world. A full patio bar in the courtyard's back corner, augmented by several mobile bar stations situated strategically throughout the venue means patrons can obtain a libation with a minimum of wait (or walk). A balcony area accommodates more than 200 fans and includes seven private VIP suites. The upstairs area includes a separate bar and an enlarged party deck in the back. The balcony includes the Crystalhead Vodka Lounge, a club that can accommodate roughly 200, with an excellent sound system. A floor level VIP area, the Captain Morgan Party Deck, features excellent sightlines of the stage.

This was a nice little venue! The area seems to be the courtyard that usually forms between buildings in the downtown areas of large cities. Being between the buildings created nice acoustics and reduced a lot of the traffic and road noise you would otherwise hear in a busy metropolitan place. Entry to the venue was easy, and security was efficient. The whole venue seemed to be standing room only, although there may have been some seating in the VIP area. We just got floor tickets, which were reasonably priced before Ticketmaster fees, and were able to get fairly close to the stage. We arrived and lined up about 45 minutes before the show started, with Uber able to drop us off right at the sidewalk where folks were already waiting. There were plenty of bars selling cans of beer and bottles of water. My wife had no complaints about the restrooms, which means they were probably in pretty good shape for most of the night. If there were any complaints, it would just be with a few of the rowdier (read: drunker) people who also attended the show, but that's just part of the live music experience, right? For the venue, the stage, the sound, and the helpful and friendly folks who worked there, five stars. I would gladly see another show at Jannus Live. Especially if Sons of Legion will be there again!
Great venue even with standing room only. Bringing in good size crowds but not overwhelming. Interesting space in the middle of a city block. I went to a sold out show where the line formed all around the block. It was well organized and quick to get in once we started moving.
Great Venue in the heart of St Pete. Unique set up and the staff was great. You can grab a great big slice of pizza, almost like 2 slices for $5 and drinks reasonable considering being at a music event.
Among the best small concert venues in America. Intimate, accessible and the acoustics are great. Took my kids to their first show last week and, as usual, a great time for all!
I’ve been going to Jannus live for over 10 years now. I’ve been to a lot of concerts there and always have a great time. I’ve seen shows from every part of the venue whether it was right at the front on the barricade, all the way in the back corner, upstairs on the balcony and even side stage. The venue itself is not huge so pretty much anywhere you are is a good spot. They also get surprisingly good bands which makes the size of the venue even better because it’s more intimate than going to a big arena or amphitheater. I do wish they would get rid of the tree in the courtyard, but that just me.
