Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Northwest/Oldsmar
Guest Reviews from Google
I come to Oldsmar area for some more extended work visits on a frequent basis, I've been a great fan of this particular hotel & have been returning time & again being the most preferableplace I would stay. Its always been consistent & comfortable, the convinience to the local area is good as can be. Lot of convenience options are right outside the front door. In any case I wouldn't decide to stray to far, there are some perfectly good food & drink options right on site. Was a big fan of the flatbread pizza's, and the breakfast choices are some of the best. The folks there always do so much to make things amenable, and enjoy seeing or getting to know either of them being I will stay for more than 1 week at a time have gotten to know some of them & always look forward getting back to the area here. The whole establishment is really well kept & always feel confident ill be well while I stay here
Stayed here on a quick trip to Tampa. Great price, hotel is nice and rooms were very clean. The TV in our room did not work at all which was not a big deal since we got in late, but would have been nice to have a TV. Some food places nearby which is nice, and is not too far from the airport.
My Room is recently renovated and clean as is the property and grounds, no complaints. Like a lot of hotels though the water pressure in the shower wasn't great, but sufficed. Bonus points for having an in hotel bar! Location is a little strange, when you see the buffalo wild wings, turn and its directly ahead of you. Just kind of a weird location for the hotel. Close restaurant options along with plenty of shopping nearby. If I was working in this area again would have no problem staying again. Was actually decently priced as well which was nice. :-)
Gladi at the front desk is wonderful and very professional and really takes care of you. Thank you for making our stay great. Very clean and nice rooms. The whole staff has been excellent. Thanks for all your hard work you do.
I want to thank the young lady who worked the second shift at the front desk. She clocked in ready to work and assist guests, and that she did. For her professionalism, understanding, assistance, and kindness, I am truly grateful. In stark contrast, the first-shift desk clerk told me there was nothing that could be done about my room situation and lied about being unable to contact her manager, who had already left the hotel. I checked in on May 1st during the late-day/early-afternoon shift. The agent at the counter was not rude, but she was unhelpful and had a very stale personality. The first room I was given was on the fourth floor and had a horrible stench, like wild animals had been living in it. The second room smelled just as bad, and the shower area had mildew stains around the edges and trim. Even though the hotel had been recently renovated, the rooms looked and felt dated. The huge AC vents on the walls were especially disgusting. The general manager or front-desk manager was helpful and professional. She personally switched my rooms and told me to let her know if I needed anything else. The maintenance man on duty was also very accommodating, he showed me two of the rooms himself. None of the rooms were my cup of tea. I value cleanliness, especially in the bathrooms, and I cannot tolerate stale or foul odors. The four stars I gave for service were specifically for the GM/front-desk manager, the second-shift front-desk clerk, and the maintenance man. Because of the conditions, I opted not to stay at the property. I requested a cancellation with no fee and a full return of my points. The second-shift desk clerk handled everything promptly and honestly, without any of the excuses or lies I had received from the first-shift clerk. I even tried to tip her $50 for her outstanding professionalism, but she refused with a glowing smile. Thank you, young lady. I checked out and booked a different property—which is a whole other story. It seems that since Hilton Hotels began franchising their properties, the brand has, for the most part, become similar to a Motel 6. I will likely be switching to another brand that maintains stronger corporate ownership. Hotel quality in America has changed drastically for the worse. It reminds me of what happened with Dairy Queen: once a beloved family spot, it declined quickly after franchising and selling the brand. I’m afraid that’s where the Hilton brand is heading.
