Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa

DO NOT STAY HERE. How this place hasn’t been shut down by the health department is a mystery and I am convinced the good reviews are paid for because I am still in shock and horrified. First of all the toilet didn’t work properly in our room and we had three people using it - GROSS. To make it worse, the common area toilets were also clogged and unusable. Secondly, house keeping never cleaned our room and our ac didn’t work either. We made our first complaint at 11 am and went to speak w the desk hourly asking if this had been taken care of. By 8pm none of it had been fixed and they told us that room service wouldn’t be cleaning because they were short staffed (not my problem). We had multiple people in line in front of us with similar complaints so I know it wasn’t a one off situation. Staff was incredibly rude. This place is absolutely disgusting and I would never ever stay here again. It was so bad that we packed up our stuff and walked to the Wyndham Grand next door and we had the BEST STAY. Please don't try to save the extra few bucks to stay here and just book elsewhere. It’ll be cheaper than booking both because you will end up doing that. In the end, it was just as expensive as the other resorts as they charge a $30 resort fee which give shin two water bottles lol - and you need to pay for the beach chairs. None of this at the Wyndham grand as the cabanas and water were included and the pool was open until 3 am!!
This hotel is prime location to pier 60 everything is within walking distance. The strip is less than 10 feet away. The pool is HUGE the online photos do not justify how big it is. They play music at the pool and have a cute Tiki Bar on the beach. Customer Servive is excellent! We had a slight issue with our room AC which sometimes happens. The staff fixed it right away and immediately gave us another room that was upgraded! Great customer service is hard to find. This is your sign to book, you will be taken care of here and love the experience. Oh, the hotel is also very family friendly. The offer a lot of free activities like beach yoga, free kayaking and more.
The hotel has a very convenient location. The first thing I didn’t like was that I paid for a Gulf View room but was assigned a room with only a partial Gulf view. The rooms show some signs of aging, but they are very comfortable, especially the bed and pillows. The hotel’s common areas could definitely use more maintenance. The pool bar and beach bar are nice and provide a great atmosphere. However, keep in mind that beach chairs and umbrellas are not included and require an additional fee. Overall, our stay was acceptable. I would come back mainly because of the excellent location and the direct access to the beach.
The spa was exactly what I needed after a long day of walking. I called at the last minute and was fortunate to get an appointment for a massage. I had the Signature Massage with Missy, and she was excellent. She was professional, attentive, and made the entire experience incredibly relaxing. The service was outstanding, and I highly recommend booking with her. Thank you for accommodating my last-minute appointment—it was the perfect way to end the day!
The positive: Right on the beach, albeit the busiest beach in CWB. Large TV and mini-fridge (in our beach view balcony room). Exercise room is great, outdoor fooseball, ping pong and small pool table. Negatives: If you get the beachview rooms, or any room on the Northside, you'll also look down from your balcony on arrays of non-stop noisy air conditions conditions that will drown out any other sound. Fortunately we didn't have a car, so no parking fee, but you will pay a daily "resort fee" which from all I could figure, gets you a beach or pool towel, if needed and that was about it. Nothing that I wouldn't expect at any decent hotel for the included price. I made the mistake of thinking the bracelet key might allow guests to use their private beach seating and umbrellas, but actually those run over $100/day extra. Considering that extra expense, you're better off staying further north in a vacation rental without the crowds, or maybe a property that doesn't gouge their guests to use their beach chairs and umbrellas. The room was plain and a bit worn down, with USB's in the lamp that don't work, and an unusual coffee maker that leaked on the double side when making a single. Also our room wasn't ready when we arrived, and we had to wait in lines for about 10 minutes checking in and out. I've spent a lot of summers in CWB and love it, but this was the first time staying at this Hilton and will most likely be the last, considering the value for your money.
