Guppy's on the Beach

On the Fourth of July, we had a wonderful lunch at Guppy’s on the Beach, a true local gem in Belleair Beach. The restaurant is well‑known among residents for its fresh seafood, and it absolutely lived up to the reputation. We ordered the Surf & Turf and the Fresh Blackened Grouper, both cooked perfectly and full of flavor. For dessert, we shared a refreshing key lime pie that was the perfect finishing touch. Guppy’s has officially become our favorite restaurant in the Belleair Beach area, and we’ll definitely be coming back.

My favorite place to eat when in town. Consider the Lobster Bisque as a starter which is excellent as is the Fish Spread. I got the Crab Cake and Cold Slaw to finish up. Always consistent on food and service. They do a call ahead list. Busy but the outside seating is great. Parking can be tough at prime times. Don’t miss this place when in area. Btw- Great Park right across the street to catch the beach sunset.

Good food, very nice and fast service, and reasonable prices. Our waitress was really sweet and food came out just perfect. We came in without a reservation and were seated right away, which was really nice and they looked busy. I definitely recommend their oysters and also trying swordfish with mash potatoes. Definitely one of my favorite places to get food in IRB.

My sister and I went for lunch on 4/21/2026 for my birthday which was Monday. I had the Fish and Chips with fries, and Cole slaw. My sister had the Chicken Quesadillas with fruit. The food was hot and delicious. Both lunches were excellent. My first time here. Chelsea our waitress was friendly, kept checking on us. I wanted a Margarita she suggested the Mango Margarita. I had two. They were excellent. I will definitely be back. I want to try the Fish Tacos next. If I could I would give them 10 stars!!

Reading the reviews and looking at the menu, I had super high hopes for this place. We made reservations and caught a sunset across the street before going to dinner. Upon entering, the place is nice. Decent atmosphere. We sat outside. Our waiter Spencer was good. Friendly, talkative. We liked him. We ordered some drinks and appetizers of Escargot and Fish spread. Soups of fish chowder and Lobster bisque. Then entrees of Crab Cakes and Shrimp Sautee. The drinks were good. Strong how I like them. The escargot was canned snails and below average. The fish spread was also subpar for the area. The lobster bisque was not good. I make better by a mile. But then again I make my own homemade seafood stock for the soup. The entrees came and it looked like a meal from 1986. Giant pieces of broccoli not soft at all and for some reason a giant piece of red pepper. My shrimp Sautee taste very blah. Like its just a bunch of $10 line cooks back there taking no pride in their food and just pumping it out as fast as possible. Crab cakes were also very subpar for the area. Given the price of $130 plus a $20 tip, this experience wasn't even close to worth $150. People giving this place 4 or 5 stars are either tourists from the Midwest or people who have never eaten at quality seafood restaurants. 100% one and done stop. Never again.
