Gulfport History Museum

What a difference since the city assumed ownership - an overdue and welcome change! Now directed by a dedicated, accredited archivist and an engaged (and sober) support team. Research is thorough, exhibits are engaging, facility is attractive and comfortable. Looking forward to watching the team curate and share the existing collection, with the hope that their respect for preserving the real Gulfport will encourage further acquisitions. Will expect to see support by city leadership - this will certainly be a consideration when choosing council members. Editing to add: It appears as if the new team has taken over the museum's social media. What a relief! First post? The new summer hours. Not some ridiculous prattle about which dog is going to run for mayor. Nice.

This review by Kevin with the photo of a street corner and a map is about the wrong Gulfport. It’s about Mississippi not Florida. As is obvious from the map.

Decided to check out this gem of a museum and wasn't disappointed. Ive lived in the area for awhile and was still able to learn several things I never knew about Gulfport. Mel was there to help and answer a few questions I had and was friendly and attentive. Great to stop by and wander around.

Great little museum full of old photos and memorabilia. Artery the fire last year they've done an excellent job of renovating. The space is light, open & airy. The collections are well put together. Go!

Real gem in Gulfport! Lovely pictures. Cute little museum. Perfect for history lovers!
