Gulfport Dive Center

If you are looking to get scuba certified or extra certifications, I highly recommend Gulfport Dive Center. I have been working with the shop over the past few years to partner with our school Scuba Program at Canterbury. We work with dive master Jim, who is amazing with students, and planning trips. We have done local trips along with East Coast trips for drift dives, extra certifications and shark dives this year. I am looking forward to setting up next year’s trips.

Overall: Gulfport dive center (Trace) is my go to dive shop. Would recommend to anyone. 5 stars! Details: Private group certification training to prepare for a week in the Keys. 1. Trace as a dive guru and instructor couldn’t be better. Trace is clear, direct, friendly, accommodating, and exudes professionalism all while being a down to earth guy. 2. Trace was able to quickly adjust and accommodate our group’s training when scheduling conflicts constrained our timeline. He was able to get us the training, knowledge, and experience within our short window. 3. As a complete novice with minimal shallow water scuba dives, I learned much more than imagined via the SSI materials he offers. Not only the knowledge obtained, but the skills practiced while with Trace are unmatched. He makes sure you are able to perform these actions without waiver before he progresses you thru the certification. 4. The dive center itself has much of the gear necessary for any type of scuba. Their inclusive discount after the certification also helps when initially purchasing your gear. 5. Also appreciate the fact that they host monthly meet-ups and offer local and destination diving throughout the year.

Not only a great local dive shop, great people and the best customer service! I bought my wife and I the open dive course under the previous management. After multiple phones call under the old management, we weren't able to get the course scheduled for over a year. Having no idea about new ownership, I called one last time before throwing in the towel, Trace (new owner) gave us our own initial lesson in the pool. Literally 2 weeks later, we did our open dives with Jim. Our experience was outstanding! Trace is an outstanding person and even better shop owner. If you ever had a bad experience there in the past, don't overlook them now. We learned a lot and appreciate how Trace honored the previous owners sale for open water diver. We look forward to many more dives with Gulfport Dive Center!!! 10 stars

I’ve gotten my open water and advanced open water certifications through Gulfport Dive Center. All of their staff are extremely helpful and amazing to work with. Trace and Jim are awesome instructors and will teach you how to be competent and safe diver. They have many opportunities to dive in the area and are extremely organized and professional. I would highly recommend Gulfport Dive Center to anyone who is looking to get certified or dive in the area.

My husband and I had a great time getting our SSI open water diver certification. The new owner Trace honored our purchase made with the previous owner. I had a pretty sizable fear going in to this, but both Trace and Jim were excellent and supportive instructors. We especially loved our day at devils den. Thank you guys so much for great dives!
