Visitors can enjoy two piers at beautiful Fort De Soto Park. One is on the bay side and the other is on the Gulf. Once at the Bay Pier you will notice the awesome view of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to your left and looking out a little to your right you will see an island with a lighthouse on it - that is Egmont Key. The Bay Pier is also where a ferry comes to take people out to Egmont Key. Open 365 days a year, the Gulf Fishing Pier is the longest at more than 1,000 feet. A popular spot there is no charge to fish on the pier and thanks to Friends of Fort Desoto who purchased a pier fishing license, you will not need to have a Florida fishing license to fish from the pier. The pier closes at 11 p.m. and has plenty of lighting at night. Tables with running water are also available for cleaning your catch.

Fort De Soto Park, like most other County and State Parks, closes at sunset. While gates block access to certain areas of the park, but the fishing piers are open later. A bait and tackle shop sells frozen bait and food concessions are also available during regular park hours.

An 800 foot long boat launching facility provides easy access to this park's seven miles of waterfront and beaches. The facility also includes eleven floating docks.

“Stunning sunset ”

One of the most beautiful park in the vicinity of Tampa! Easy access (you have to carry 5 dollars in cash for the entrance), lots of parking lots! Pure white sandy beach and a beautiful sand island...
