Granada Terrace Historic District

In February 1924, the Granada Terrace subdivision was platted by prominent local developer C. Perry Snell and laid out with parkways, circular plazas in the roadway, and curved streets. This small, compact neighborhood was oriented towards these parkways and plazas which feature large concrete monuments. The southern portion of the neighborhood is bisected by Granada Park, the central parkway comprised of a series of rounded plots that runs from 1st Street NE to the water, ending on the east side of Coffee Pot Boulevard and opening into a large, semi-circular vista. Features within the vista include a large, rectangular, concrete pylon pergola and benches on the west side of Coffee Pot Boulevard, the street that parallels the waterfront. A corresponding semi-circular feature and a wide concrete terrace with steps to water's edge dominate its extension into Coffee Pot Bayou on the east side of the boulevard.

One of my all time favorite locations to sit on the water and enjoy the bayou... I have In the past caught fish here and watched dolphins 🐬 play as if they were performing 🎭... Beautiful anytime, be it dusk, dawn or anywhere in between

Talking a nice brisk walk along Coffee Pot Bayou down to the Spa Beach area or our city's waterfront park filled me with much needed joy! The weather was supreme, the visuals along the stroll - beautiful, as well there are many other kind folks walking, bicycling, fishing, reading this or that book... the best of human nature experienced. I was even gifted with receiving puppy/dog loving from a few wonderful pets along the way. Always inquire prior to petting, if this is acceptable to the pet family member; some dogs feel a stranger is a threat to their human parent; too, not every dog parent wants a stranger touching their beloved pup. We certainly live in a beautiful area of FL and the country. This walking area is certainly a small piece of heaven❣️

Our daughter introduced her children and shared her memories from visiting her great uncle in St. Pete. Missed seeing the manatees but met some interesting birds. The red tide seemed to make the water funky and smelly.
