Lay of the Land: Enjoy stunning views as you approach the park via the scenic one-mile Fred Howard Causeway. The beach itself has a swimming area and stunning, sun drenched sand. Park goers can take advantage of picnic shelters, a butterfly garden, softball field, playground and a hiking/biking trail. The park is closed the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Little Known Facts: The mile-long causeway is a favorite of filmmakers. Most recently the causeway was featured in the John Cusack feature "Grace is Gone" and in a national television commercial for Cadillac.
Why You Should Go: The orientation of the park makes it a favorite among wind surfers, or for the less adventurous, it's also a great place to watch wind-surfers as you enjoy the white sandy beach, which is also perfect for sunbathing. Sunsets are spectactacular.
