Great diner experience. Sat right away about 7:45am on a weekday. Service was quick and friendly. The Classic - a breakfast sandwich was on point. The sausage tasted as good as fresh sausage in Pennsylvania. And they put on 2 patties. I didn’t see cheddar as a substitute cheese but they do American cheese right. 👌 A great deal for $8! My breakfast companion ordered the breakfast special with two eggs and substituted their toast with French toast. I highly recommend, the butter they provide is the best sweet butter I’ve had. Hands down best French toast I’ve had in a while. Their potato hash was alright, I wasn’t digging the way they season it, seemed like too much lard or something for my taste. They provide Twinnings English Breakfast for their hot tea. 🫖 👍 I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area.
On my recent visit to Central Diner... I opted for the cheeseburger due to time constraints. The burger was perfectly cooked—medium, as requested—and included cheese, lettuce, tomato, and crinkle-cut fries. The staff's friendliness and prompt service are consistent highlights, reinforcing why this spot is a go-to for breakfast in St. Petersburg, Florida. Normally, we get breakfast here so I would get this half pound hamburger breakfast along with eggs, and wife likes the waffles and other breakfast items here, if you want a classic diner this is your choice, locals and tourist come here for speed, quality and quantity. In essence Central Diner is a staple worth visiting for any breakfast enthusiast. I look forward to returning soon. If you’re looking for classic diner food, you’ll find it at Central Diner. This hidden gem is located in downtown St. Pete right on Central Ave. I ordered the french toast and sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on white bread. Both of the items tasted good and I’d eat it again. The service was okay. The waitress took my order and I got my food fairly quickly along with the bill. She never checked on me after she dropped off my food and the bill. I wasn’t unsure if I had to go up to the front to pay the bill. Paid street parking is available.
It’s a diner, folks! Fast, friendly service and the pancakes I so desperately wanted this morning were perfect! Got a happy birthday song along with my breakfast ❤️… I like my egg a little less cooked but I shoulda said so 😂. Go here to feel the local (real people) vibe!
We stopped by this diner for breakfast on a lazy morning, and it ended up being exactly the kind of place we were hoping to find. Sometimes all you want is a good cup of coffee and a solid breakfast without anything overly fancy, and this place really delivered. I ordered the spinach omelet while my partner went with the corned beef omelet, and we both started the morning with a couple cups of black coffee. The spinach omelet was fluffy, packed with fresh spinach, and cooked just right. It wasn't dry at all, which happens way too often with omelets. I tried a few bites of the corned beef omelet too, and that one was just as good. The corned beef had plenty of flavor, wasn't too salty, and mixed really well with the eggs. Both portions were generous enough that we left feeling completely satisfied. The black coffee was honestly better than I expected. It was hot, fresh, and strong enough to wake me up without tasting burnt. I ended up getting a refill because it paired so well with breakfast. The service made the whole experience even better. Everyone greeted us with a smile, kept our coffee topped off, and checked in just enough without interrupting our conversation. The diner had a cozy, welcoming feel, and you could tell there were plenty of regulars coming in, which is always a good sign. Overall, it was one of those simple breakfast spots that just gets everything right. Good food, friendly people, fair prices, and a comfortable atmosphere. We'll definitely be making this one of our regular breakfast stops whenever we're in the area.
