Casual Clam

What a gem! The Casual Clam has been a local favorite since 1991 for good reason. The whole belly Ipswich clams are perfectly crispy and sweet, and their famous clam chowder is hands-down the best I've had in Florida—rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The vibe is super casual and welcoming, with great indoor and outdoor seating. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or relaxing with oysters and a lobster roll, everything tastes fresh and delicious. Excellent service and generous portions make it a must-visit spot in St. Pete! Highly recommend.

This was our first visit. Just a little place with a nice outside bar area. Server was polite and the food came out incredibly fast. Like within 7 minutes of ordering. We had jumbo shrimp basket and fish n chips basket. Food was delicious. Definitely would recommend.

Delicious! Portions were generous. Food was great. Nothing fancy, just real good food!!! Fried clam is very popular. Muscles and fish were fine. Shrimp looked delish!

Casual Clam fried shrimp. 10/10. 12 medium sized shrimp perfectly breaded and cooked. $14. IMO best in town. Tatar and Cocktail sauce 10/10. Shrimp served with crinkle cut fries. Soft and tasty but I wish I'd ordered them crispy. I mixed them together for a tasty delight. Immediate service and food came out fresh and piping hot in minutes.

For 5 years, since moving from New England to Florida we have been searching and today we found them. The most delicious Ipswich whole fried clams. The fish and chips made with New England cod were also outstanding! I'd be remiss if I failed to mention our server Jessie who is absolutely adorbs!
