Blue Waters Treasure Island

Blue Waters was a lovely resort that was perfect for my short stay of two nights. Cottage #8, which is a one bedroom, was very clean, decorated nicely and had all the amenities I needed. The communication with the company was superb. The beach taxi is quickly available for travel to bars and restaurants. Having the beach across the street was so convenient. The only request I would have is for the little alcove in the bedroom to have a bar to hang clothes onto. The pool and the grill area was so cute and were both clean to use, which was a plus. Very cute and convenient.

My family recently stayed here for a few days. Here are my thoughts: Pros: • The location! We loved being just steps from the beach. • We liked having two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. Plenty of place for us. • Having two parking spots included. • The location was quiet. Cons: • On our second day there, maintenance came to switch out the thermostat to a smart one. Unfortunately, that messed up the AC, so we had no air conditioning during the night. Only the front two windows have screens, and those faced the street, so I didn’t feel safe leaving them open. It was miserable and most of us got no sleep that night. The AC was luckily fixed first thing the next morning. • This might seem trivial, but the only cutting board in the kitchen was about 6” x 8”. It was quite a challenge using it to prepare our meals. A larger cutting board wouldn’t cost much and would be very useful. • Several of the towel bars were loose. I told my kids not to use them and to use the hooks on the backs of the doors. I was afraid of them falling off and us getting blamed for it. The toilet paper holder in a bathroom was already off when we got there. • The price was a bit much, but I guess they can charge a premium for the location. All in all, it was a pleasant place to stay.

The only good thing about this place was the location to the beach .. this was our first family vacation to Florida and we were very disappointed in the accommodations. We arrived and our microwave did not work we asked more than once for it to be fixed and it never was, which we planned our groceries around fast and easy for our kids so we had to pivot and get different things delivered. No internet which I needed to work from my laptop one of the days and couldn’t, it would have been nice to be able to watch tv before bed for our kids . We were locked out of our room at one point because we were not aware the key is only for the deadbolt and not any of the other locks, keypad didn’t work because of the internet being out . There were no tables and chairs outside like advertised until the last day. Our chair outside the front door was missing a bolt so we couldn’t use that either . Toilet paper holder barely holding onto the wall, screws poking out of the wall to hold the mirror in the bedroom, lamp in living room didn’t work..Very thin shades which wouldn’t be bad but you have neighboring unit’s outside lights shining in the room . The reviews were all great so we were really hoping for a nice stay.

We stayed for 3 nights. We were in cottage #6.Location was perfect!! Right across the street from the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets!! When we arrived at 6 pm, the cleaning lady was finishing up. Mind you check in is at 4 pm. We walked inside and whatever cleaning products she used was very strong but the place was very clean and remodeled. Noticed the microwave was not working but plugged in (appliances looked to be brand new too). Internet wasn’t working so I texted the owner and told him about our findings. He said he would contact maintenance about the microwave and explained that the internet wasn’t working not working but spectrum would be out tomorrow to look at it. The next day spectrum was there but still no internet which also meant no tv either. Internet was never fixed the whole time we were there or the microwave. We were offered a late checkout on our last day. Outside needs to be cleaned up a bit (garden tools on the side of our cottage, someone’s shoes by our outdoor chair, and I’m assuming an old grill in our outside area). The pool looked clean and some kids were in. It was still a little chilly out for us to hop in. Parking is tight. There was no parking pass for us to put in our car. Was afraid we’d get towed but owner told us we would be ok. It is a cute little place though and hopefully they can get more things accomplished.

Our stay was two days 3/11-3/13 -Learning upon arrival that there was no Wifi/cable and learning it hadn't been active for over a month but we were not advised at booking or before arrival. -No place to hang clothes or sit suitcases, bags (no racks, towel bars, furniture). Guests had to leave their swimsuits and towels hanging on the fence surrounding the pool. No towel rack or bar or shelf in the bathroom or main room. -nothing in the room to sit on but the bed...considering the room is equipped with a full kitchen, it made it impossible to eat anything we would have otherwise cooked...also, no silverware -missing amenities for the pool (lounge chairs, towels, hot tub section doesn't work) -Curtain rod bracket that fell completely out of the wall when we tried to open the curtains - Luckily a painter was on-site and was kind enough to bring a 5 gallon bucket in to stand on so he could reattach it -Our "pool view" room that overlooks the parking lot and definitely NOT the pool -constant SEWER problems for both nights we were there necessitating a plumber to attempt repairs on 3/12 and a return of the issues which had the owner with a rented snake in our room starting 9pm the evening of 3/12 -The emergency evacuation of the room at 1am the morning of 3/13 due to sewage backing up into our room through both the toilet and shower resulting in us and our belongings sitting outside our room. The owner promised a full refund, in person but has now been ghosting us for two+ weeks. I took him at his word and trusted they would make this right. At least five other couples had similar issues and a similar lack of response while on site. One couple left after a single night and another couple had been walking a several miles to the 7-11 to use the bathroom. The beach is amazing.
