1888 Hotel

We had a great weekend staying at the 1888. It was my first experience with a hotel that has no front desk or continuous staffing, but our text messages were always answered promptly and the lack of a front desk wasn’t a problem. The building is definitely old, full of character, and the alley way and load out area are unfortunately a little bit creepy, the front entrance is much more welcoming. It is important to note that the two parking spots for unloading are not directly behind the hotel but actually two buildings east. We really liked that the rooms had full kitchens that were well stocked with utensils and dishes, also the showers are very nice and have many different spray options. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable, but definitely not soundproof, it’s an old building and you definitely hear everything. Great location to go to all of the downtown bars and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again when we are in st Pete.

Booked last minute after reading the reviews, and everything went smoothly. I love that the front door is locked at all times. It’s lovely and quiet. My room (206) was fantastic and cozy! AC, water temp and pressure were great, and I much appreciated the coffee pods with creamer! The free parking was also a huge selling point.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights, our room was little but we had everything we needed. The balcony on the second floor was relaxing and a great place to have our lunch. Vinoy Park was a 15 minute walk. Shops and restaurants are a few blocks away, great walking neighborhood. The staff was wonderful and right there if we needed anything. We will definitely stay here again. Free Trolly picks up out front of hotel and Free Trolly to Tampa Rays baseball game was 4 blocks south of the hotel. Great Location

We loved everything about the 1888 Hotel. Great communication , perfect location, and incredibly well appointed (including quality toilet paper and products). Someone really paid attention to electrical outlets everywhere and a great coffee maker . Even the sofa bed was comfortable and the AC nice and cold. I would definitely stay there again

Loved the room, it was everything we needed. Great communication from the property and a great place to stay. The location does struggle with limited unloading space if its busy but parking is available at a garage nearby. The limited unloading is the only reason for 4 star location instead of 5. Also, they do not have an elevator so book the first floor if needed. Note, they mention this on their website so no excuse to fuss about it if you stay there. We would definitely recommend the 1888 hotel for a cozy room experience and excellent customer service.
