Founded as a key 19th-century port, the Dunedin Marina was formally dedicated on July 4, 1961, becoming the heart of the city's waterfront. For decades, it fostered community and sailing. In late 2024, Hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated the marina, destroying the pier and seawalls. A major rebuild is underway, with completion expected by spring 2026, honoring its resilient maritime legacy.
Very scenic area to watch nature at its best, the sunset and the boats on the waterway. The purple martins are here for the season.
Clearwater Ferry up and running, still more building and repairs needed but definitely enjoy the Ferry as a means of transportation to and from Downtown Clearwater and Clearwater Beach. BONUS: parking is FREE in Dunedin, if you know how to find it.
Adorable, quaint downtown area with tons of shops and spots to grab a bite and a beverage.
Much of the marina is accessible, but part of the road is closed off to traffic. Well-maintained restrooms, picnic tables, benches, etc. Public can access outside area along gulf waterway. Playground for children. Nice area for relaxing, easy walking, birdwatching. Restaurants and small shops within easy walking distance.
