Ruth Eckerd Hall manages and operates The Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, which is located in downtown Clearwater’s Cleveland Street District, is an easy 15-minute drive from Clearwater Beach, a 35-minute drive from Tampa International and St. Pete Clearwater airports, as well a short 20-minute drive from Ruth Eckerd Hall. A variety of restaurants is conveniently located within walking distance of the theatre. Constructed in 1921, The Bilheimer Capitol Theatre is one of Florida’s oldest operating theaters. It is consistently named a Top 5 club venue by industry trade publication Pollstar. In 2013, the theater underwent a complete $10 million renovation and is the catalyst for downtown development. In 2019, Nancy and David Bilheimer donated $2.5 million to Ruth Eckerd Hall as part of the organization’s ongoing “Expanding the Experience” Capital campaign. In recognition of the generous donation, the Capitol Theatre’s name was changed to the Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre.
