(Feb. 12, 2025) - Visit St. Pete-Clearwater (VisitSPC), the official destination marketing organization of Pinellas County on Florida’s Gulf Coast and home to America’s Favorite Beaches, has announced a partnership for the 2025 season with the Betfred Rugby Super League, the top-tier Rugby League competition in the Northern Hemisphere, bringing St. Pete-Clearwater’s sunshine to the U.K. and across Europe.
As an advertising sponsor, VisitSPC’s branding will be prominently featured on LED banners across more than 100 matches, be televised on top European networks such as BBC and Sky Sports. Additionally, matches will be broadcasted in more than 50 countries worldwide – including France, Belgium, Switzerland, Gulf States, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada – reminding fans and viewers that award-winning white sand beaches and emerald waters await in St. Pete-Clearwater. With an estimated viewership of more than 40 million, the partnership promises extensive visibility and engagement with the Visit St. Pete-Clearwater brand.
The partnership includes high-profile games throughout the season including:
- The season opener match between the Wigan Warriors and the Leigh Leopards on Feb. 13
- Special Las Vegas matchup of the Wigan Warriors vs. the Warrington Wolves on March 1
- All Beftfred Rugby Super League playoffs and Semi-Finals
- The Grand final, played on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Old Trafford, the 74,000 capacity home of Manchester United Football Club.
Running through the end of the 2025 season, the agreement will showcase the area with an integrated online and radio campaign. This partnership will feature prominent VisitSPC branding placement within stadiums, alongside specially-designed radio advertisements and engaging online content.
