Ted Peters Famous Smoked Fish

We had a fantastic experience at Ted Peters! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. If you visit, you can’t leave without trying the smoked fish spread—it was one of the highlights of our meal. The German potato salad was flavorful and perfectly prepared, and the smoked salmon was outstanding: fresh, tender, and packed with amazing smoky flavor. The atmosphere has a relaxed, old Florida charm that makes the whole experience even better. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

This place actually popped up on my Instagram feed, and since I was going to be in the area, I decided to make a special trip out here just to try it. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I actually extended my stay until Wednesday just to go—and I'm so glad I did! I had never had smoked mullet before; honestly, I didn't even know you could eat mullet! They had two other fish options available that were a bit more expensive, but I figured I had to give the original a try. It was actually pretty good and very tasty! I'm really glad it showed up on my feed so I could finally cross "eating smoked mullet" off my bucket list. They have a really cool bar and an outdoor seating area, but the day I went was just too hot and humid to sit outside. Thankfully, they have an indoor seating area with great air conditioning, which was definitely my choice for the day. Overall, a very good experience and well worth the wait!

Food was awesome. Fish spread is so freaking good. Also got the potatoes and coleslaw and that was very good. The root beer was very tasty and the key lime pie was just the perfect combination of sour and sweet! The waitress was so sweet and you can tell they care about their customers!

The fish and salad were delicious, and the portions were huge—we ordered one serving to share. However, the place itself could use some renovation; perhaps the owner wanted to keep everything in its original state, but it really needed refurbishing and a good cleaning.

As a florida native very well versed in smoked mullet. This was our first experience at Ted's and from what I hear its been a local icon for over 40 years. I grew up at my parents BBQ Restaurant where dad slow smoked meats and mullet every day. Its hard to impress me with smoked meats. They did not disappoint! I've never had smoked salmon before and I was impressed by the nice smoke flavor without the killer heartburn later. The food was absolutely amazing. The ever so popular smoked fish spread was very good! I loved the German potato salad, first time for that as well. We will definitely be back and bringing our family with us.
