
The St. Petersburg branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History celebrates Black History Month with a special dinner featuring an address by Valerie Scoon, professor at the College of Motion Picture Arts at Florida State University. Scoon will present her 2021 Emmy Award-winning film, which explores North Florida’s once-invisible slave trade. Advance tickets for the event, which will be held in the USC Ballroom on the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg Campus, are $60.
