Museum of Fine Arts

Nice art museum in Downtown St.Pete. Good to explore for a good 2 hours in my opinion. I liked most of the art work but find it odd to see some modern day art in the older period art galleries, although I see how it matches or is inspired by that time period. It should have been in a modern art gallery room instead. Otherwise it’s still a solid art museum

The Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg is such a hidden gem! It’s a quaint, intimate museum that’s perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable visit. Even though it’s smaller in size, it’s filled with an impressive variety of beautiful and thoughtfully curated pieces that really capture your attention. I loved how easy it was to explore without feeling overwhelmed—you can truly take your time and appreciate each exhibit. The collection is diverse, and every room offers something unique, making it a wonderful spot for both art lovers and casual visitors. If you’re in St. Pete and looking for a peaceful, inspiring experience, this museum is definitely worth a stop!

I went on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I was greeted by great, helpful staff. The admission price was a small price to pay for what waited for me in the museum itself. I can't even believe the variety and curated quality of the artwork on display. Each room brought me a new reason to gasp, but only one room made me cry. From two rooms away I saw one of my favorite paintings by one of my favorite French impressionists. With tears in my eyes I stood in front of one of Claude Monet's paintings, a study of London's House of Parliament from between 1899-1901. I stood there for ten minutes, trying not to breathe too loud. I went back to it, several times. Now don't get me wrong, I walked through every exhibit that followed. I saw a few glorious works by Georgia O'Keefe. I saw a lot of powerful, beautiful things. I went back to Mr. Monet. A part of me is still there and will always be there. Thank you so much, St. Pete's Museum of Fine Arts for one of the most sublime experiences of my life.

had walked past this museum several times while strolling along the pier in St. Petersburg, but this weekend our son asked us to go inside. I can honestly say that we were very pleased with our visit. All of the museum staff were extremely polite, professional, and knowledgeable. Everyone was happy to help, answer questions, and share interesting information about the exhibits. The atmosphere inside the museum is very calm and comfortable, which makes it easy to focus on exploring and appreciating the historical artifacts on display. The location and parking are also very convenient. Even on the weekend, we had no trouble finding parking, which made the visit even more enjoyable and stress-free. Thank you for your wonderful work and for maintaining such beautiful and interesting exhibits. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend this museum to others.

We really liked how they have the museum organized here with the pieces spaced out as well. It wasn’t crowded and we were able to enjoy the pieces without feeling rushed or crowded.
