St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) is continually improving its services and, in 2023, set an annual passenger record of 2.49 million. To accommodate the increasing demand, PIE will use a $6 million federal grant to help fund a terminal renovation and expansion project. The work consists of adding two gates, consolidating two TSA checkpoints into one, expanding passenger gate seating areas, increasing its capacity to sort and deliver baggage to planes, and adding escalators, elevators, restrooms and concession spaces. PIE is also planning to expand its parking.

PARKING INFORMATION

Parking spaces are limited, so airport management suggests that travelers arrange rides and be dropped off curbside at the terminal.

For arrivals, a free cellphone waiting lot is available. Parking lots within walking distance – designated Short-term and Long-term parking – fill up quickly.

Two remote lots, referred to as Economy Parking, are served by free shuttles with pickups every 20 minutes, on average. They are open from two hours before the first departure of the day to one hour after the last flight arrives. If a flight is delayed, the shuttles will continue to operate for 30 minutes after its arrival. A map shows the lots’ locations. The airport recommends that people who have difficulty walking with luggage use the remote Economy Parking lots and the shuttles.
