Heritage Village

Great place to walk around freely and explore history! The hurricane covers are on the windows from June to November so keep that in mind. We had such a great time and loved the gift shop. We return every time we are in the area because it’s free! It’s nice to just sit on a rocking chair on one of the old porches and feel the historical energy.

Heritage Village is a wonderful place to spend time visiting some beautiful and unique historical buildings. We are from Michigan and it reminds of Greenfield Village, but we love it even more. Admission is free and you can roam freely at your own pace. All the volunteers are friendly and helpful. Take the docent tour of the Seven Gable Home~ it is well worth it! There is also a nice gift shop. We bought some local honey on our last visit. I love old doors and the hardware I like to think of everyone who has entered through the doorways and what their view was✨️

They have the best volunteer in the gift shop so helpful so kind welcomes everyone like a good friend. Offers tips, really kind to families. Tells people about future events. Her nane was Mindy. I was so impressed. The baskets in The gift shop were hand made. The honey locally grown, its a special place hope to go back one day.

Take a step back in time and learn the history of the area. I was able to explore the majority of the structures on site. The volunteers were very friendly and informative about the village. This is a huge beautiful property and takes hours to see everything.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, now I take my family here. It's totally free, the gift shop is awesome, and all the history is beautiful and so very interesting. It's like stepping into the past, 100 years ago! They have blacksmithing demonstrations, tours, and places to have a picnic. Bonus - The Botanical Gardens are right there too 🌺
