White House | Black Market sells exclusively designed, private branded clothing for women offering a uniquely feminine and affordable alternative to designer fashion. WH|BM offers fashionable and sophisticated clothing and accessory items, from everyday basics, to wear-to-work, to elegant fashion, primarily in black and white and related shades with seasonal color splashes. WH|BM began in 1985 as a single, tiny neighborhood boutique in Baltimore, Maryland called The White House, offering unique, individual collections of fabulous clothing and accessories in shades of white and ivory. Expanding on the original theme, the owners opened Black Market in 1995, and in 1997 combined the boutiques into one concept, and White House|Black Market was born. WH|BM currently operates more than 400 boutiques and over 50 outlets across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
