Join the nightly sunset celebration on the world-famous Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach. The free, year-round Sunsets at Pier 60 features artisans, street performers and world-famous sunsets, beginning two hours before sunset and lasting until two hours after, weather permitting. This family-friendly event is perfect for all ages.

Sunsets at Pier 60 has been a favorite year-round nightly sunset celebration on the iconic Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach, a free, family-friendly destination for tourists and locals to experience. During its nearly 28-year history, Sunsets at Pier 60 has produced numerous special events such as Beach Fest, Caribbean Christmas Art Show and FantaSea of Lights.

The largest event – the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival – is a 17-day beach-wide celebration of Clearwater Beach’s two most notable natural assets: its sugar sand and sunsets. More than 14 sand sculptors use 1,000 tons of Clearwater Beach sand to create a walk-through art exhibit housed in a 21,000-square-foot structure.

Getting to Pier 60

Pier 60 is at the western end of a major roadway that bisects the state. That same road also happens to run right by Tampa International Airport, making getting here from across the bay a straight shot via the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

From points north and south in St. Pete/Clearwater, U.S. 19 will get you to State Road 60, which is also called Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard here. For a more scenic route, take Gulf Boulevard, which lines the beaches of St. Pete/Clearwater.

No car? No problem. The Suncoast Beach Trolley runs up and down Gulf Boulevard between St. Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach, then turns inland for its terminus in downtown Clearwater.

There’s even a ferry that brings passengers from downtown Clearwater to Clearwater Beach, where passengers can disembark just steps from Pier 60 in just 15 minutes.

 

Parking Near Pier 60

You’ll find ample paid spots in a parking lot situated right at Pier 60, but the parking garage attached to the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach is also a good spot (bonus: your car will be shaded all day – a huge plus in summer). You might even be able to snag one of the nearly 400 spots along the street. Clearwater Beach Municipal Marina is also a good option, as are a handful of public lots within a few blocks of the pier. Wherever you end up leaving your wheels, expect to pay around three dollars per hour.
