Abbaticchio Tapped To Lead New VSPC Department
Local Tourism Pro Brings Wide-Ranging Experience, Broad Skill Set To New Post

St.Pete/Clearwater (July 29, 2016) - Hospitality and marketing professional Jeff Abbaticchio has been named to the newly created position of Director of Community and Partnerships for Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, the destination marketing organization for Pinellas County, Florida.
Abbaticchio will be responsible for growing and developing the organization's relationships with a wide variety of industry partners, communicating the value of partnerships to VSPC stakeholders and developing and implementing new partnerships with hospitality-related brands and organizations on a local and regional level.
"We're fortunate to have Jeff join the VSPC team because he brings an amazing skill set and an impressive array of solid industry relationships with him," said VSPC Executive Director David Downing. "We believe this new position underscores our commitment to growing our existing industry relationships while forging new partnership opportunities as well."
Abbaticchio comes to VSPC from St. Pete Beach's iconic Loews Don CeSar Hotel, where he was Director of Public Relations and was named their 2015 Team Member of the Year.
Prior to The Don, Abbaticchio held similar posts at Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Loews Miami Beach Hotel, Doral Hotels & Resorts and served as VP of Public Relations for Travel and Tourism at Beber Silverstein + Partners Advertising.
He has served as Chairman of the Miami Beach Convention Center Advisory Board, a board member of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau and a member of the Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council.
Abbaticchio is currently co-chairman of Visit Florida's Communications Committee, has served on the boards of both the St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay Beaches Chambers of Commerce and is an associate member of the Society of American Travel Writers and Public Relations Society of America.
A native of Florida, Abbaticchio resides in St. Petersburg and is a graduate of Florida State University's School of Communication.
