Local distilleries are stepping up to assist the community in its time of need. From Kozuba & Sons Distillery, St. Pete Distillery, 3 Daughters Brewing, Tarpon Springs Distillery and Big Storm Brewing Co., the hands of folks in St. Pete/Clearwater will be clean with the help of these local businesses.
Cold brew company founded in St. Pete, Made Coffee, is spreading generosity by donating hundreds of cases of its canned cold coffee to first responders, hospital staff healthcare workers and recently unemployed hospitality workers in St. Pete, FL. It's all part of their effort to be "Alone, Together."
An Italian restaurant in Gulfport, Pia's Trattoria wanted to serve its community during a time when many seniors are self-isolating during the coronavirus outbreak and may be struggling to stock up on certain items. They asked the community if anyone in need would like a free curbside meal, and the response was overwhelming. Seniors citizens 65 and older are able to call the restaurant and arrange for a curbside pickup of free pasta dishes daily. For all other customers, they're open for take-out!
Local artist, Alyssa Marie and her husband Braden Everly launched the ambitious Happy Mural Project with a goal to foster happiness and togetherness. The idea was crafted up weeks ago before the coronavirus, but the couple hasn't let that stop them. Their inaugural sunflower mural is in full bloom and instead of handing out sunflowers they're drawing smiles and honks from people passing by. Local St. Pete media company, St. Pete Rising, has partnered up with community organization, EDGE Guide to launch an online fundraiser to help give back to the healthcare workers fighting COVID-19 while also supporting local restaurants. They're teaming up with one local restaurant and one hospital or healthcare provider per day to raise money and provide daily meals to those on the frontlines of this fight.Donate Here

A local hospitality group -- Beachside Hospitality Group -- with four restaurants in Clearwater Beach may have closed their doors, but their arms remain wide open to over 350 local employees. They have since started offering Sunday family dinners, including a special Easter Dinner family meal. They plan to continue this effort of giving back for as long as financially possible. Local Artist, Anthony Freese of Wax & Hive, is spreading joy with positive yard signs he created for St. Pete residents. The signs available for purchase read "Be Kind," "We're in This Together" and "This Is Temporary." St. Pete Beach resort, Alden Suites, launched #AldenHeroes -- a campaign highlighting guests who are on the front lines -- from truck drivers and first responders, to grocery story employees and healthcare workers. As part of their #FloridaHeroes campaign, 3 Daughters Brewing in St. Pete, Florida will give away 50 free cases of beer to those fighting on the front lines against COVID-19.
