Current Travel Safety Information
Zika Virus
The Florida Department of Health has confirmed it is investigating a local case of Zika in Pinellas County/Tampa Bay area.
However it is unclear where the case was acquired and at this time officials do not believe mosquitoes are actively spreading Zika in Pinellas County (see Tampa Bay Times story here).
As has been the case since the first reported incidence of locally-acquired Zika in the Miami/Dade area four hours away last month (see that update here), Visit St. Pete/Clearwater remains in contact, state and federal officials and is closely monitoring the situation.
We will be constantly updating information from the Florida Department of Health, CDC, Visit Florida and listing practical advice for industry and visitors alike on this page.
The only travel advisory in Florida is in Miami-Dade County, four hours away from St. Pete/Clearwater.
For more information on best practices and prevention for visitors, see this list from the Florida Department of Health.
