Music in the Marly at the Museum of Fine Arts: The Gene Knific Trio with special guest Renata Knific
Award-winning Chicago-based composer Gene Knific will perform with his band, The Gene Knific Trio, in his MFA debut. Knific has been heralded by Grammy-nominated pianist Shelly Berg as a "multi-talented pianist/composer" and incorporates a unique blend of classical and modern elements in his music. Knific has performed in numerous venues across the globe, including the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the Copenhagen Opera House and with The Gene Knific Trio at the Elkhart Jazz Festival. He is a two-time winner of the ASCAP Young Jazz Composers award. Tickets: Marly Music Society Members $15; Students (with current ID) $15; Adult (Non-Marly Music Society Members) $25*.
