Culture and Heritage Festivals

When Greek and Irish immigrants settled in 19th century St. Petersburg/Clearwater, they organized community festivals as reminders of home. The communities were small then, but as St. Pete/Clearwater has grown, so have the festivals – into weekend, and sometimes week-long, celebrations with open invitations. The allure of these heritage events has encouraged the organization of new fetes too, creating a year-round festival line-up for you.

1 Highland Games in Dunedin

Dunedin Scottish Highland Games
Saturday, April 4, 2020

Highland game days take place in many cities but there's nothing like those held in Dunedin, a town founded by two Scotsmen in the 1800s with tons of Scottish pride still today. With pipe bands, traditional dancing and athletics, you'll feel like you've landed in Scotland for the day. Enjoy food, music, and shop for a traditional kilt to take home as a souvenir.
