The arts scene is as big (and awesome) around here as our beaches.
No doubt you’ll want to start in St. Petersburg, the heart of fine art in the region. Get your mind blown at The Dalí Museum, which houses the largest collection of the surrealist’s work outside of Spain. The first permanent exhibit of Dale Chihuly, a master of glass work, is right here, too. Fine arts lovers will bask in the works of classical and contemporary masters at the Museum of Fine Arts. The Florida Holocaust Museum, also in St. Pete, is a must-see for its moving presentation of Holocaust history.
There are also great regional history museums such as the Tarpon Springs Heritage Museum, which chronicles the town’s development into a Greek enclave, or the Dunedin Museum in Dunedin, a city known for its Celtic roots. The Tampa Bay Auto Museum is a very cool stop for gearheads, while families can gather at Great Explorations Children’s Museum for educational exhibits.
