This National Quilting Day Celebration showcases several historic buildings that will open to reveal specific kinds of quilts, including appliqué, miniature, art, pieced, wall hangings, challenges and antique. The quilters will demonstrate new and old techniques in each location. The quilting extravaganza is a family event, so bring the children and help celebrate. The day is a way to reflect with pride on the traditions of quilt-making and the contributions crafters have made to their families and communities for many generations. Donations are welcome and will support programs and events at Heritage Village.

Find out the answer to that nagging question, “I wonder if this is worth anything?” by attending Heritage Village’s Antique Appraisal Fair, Saturday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organized by the Pinellas County Historical Society, the fair presents noted Tampa Bay area antique experts who can examine visitors’ items and tell if they are sitting on a gold mine or saving sentimental keepsakes. Fee per item.

Description

This living museum features a fascinating collection of restored homes and buildings on 21 wooded acres. The historical museum is the centerpiece of this park and features two museum galleries with exhibits. Spinning, weaving and other demonstrations are regularly held. Open Wed. - Sat. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Sun. 1 - 4 p.m. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays and countyholidays. No admission fee but donations are welcome and benefit Heritage Village operations.
