Now you can find out at the 11th Annual Superstars Dancesport Championships. Ballroom and Latin dancers from around the world face off for $85,000 in cash and prizes. A full-service, luxury, waterfront resort. The 361-room resort was originally built in 1925 and underwent a $93 million restoration in 1992, returning the property to its original splendor. The Vinoy is now on the National Register of Historic Places and a member of the Historic Hotels of America. In addition, the resort, which fronts Tampa Bay in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, offers on premises an 18-hole golf course, 74-slip marina, two swimming pools, five restaurants, a full-service health club, salon and day spa and 12-court tennis complex. Opened on New Year's Eve 1925, The Vinoy set a construction speed record completing the hotel in under 10 months despite a railroad strike. The property's main restaurant, Marchand's Bar & Grill, is consistently named one of the state's top 25 restaurants by Florida Trend Magazine.
