The Dali & Beyond Film Series features an eclectic selection of films – both familiar and fantastic. April's film feature magic realiism, which is a genre associated especially with Latin America that expresses a primarily realist view of the world while adding or revealing magical elements, including this feature: Midnight in Paris. While vacationing in Paris with his fiancee, the lead character has taken to touring the city alone. On one such late-night excursion, he encounters a group of strange - yet familiar - revelers, who sweep him along, apparently back in time, for a night with some of the Jazz Age's icons of art and literature. The more time he spends with these cultural heroes of the past, the more dissatisfied he becomes with the present. The free screening begins at 1 p.m. at the Dali Museum in St. Pete.
